9:00 am in age/grade-based classes
6 weeks to 4 years old meet in the Nursery (upstairs)
Pre-K to 6th grade meet in classrooms (downstairs)
The chief purpose of our Sunday School is to glorify God by maturing His people in the faith through a Christ-centered and Bible-based curriculum and program. In accordance with this goal, Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church desires to:
· Provide reinforcement, not a replacement, to the parent’s teaching of Biblical and theological knowledge to their children.
· Provide a learning atmosphere so that students can grow in Christ and develop into mature Christians.
· Help each individual discover and apply God's principles to their lives and to experience positive Scripture-based life changes.
· Help synthesize all church related training so that each child can become an effective witness for Christ to other church members, the community, and the world.
· Provide fellowship and an opportunity for children to build closer relationships with their peers, and to foster an atmosphere that helps assimilate newcomers into the church family.
Promotion to the next class for ages 4 and below occurs twice a year and for those ages Pre-K and above occurs once on the first Sunday in September.
Children's Church
Dismissed from the Sanctuary before the Sermon
PreK & K go to Room 102
1st-3rd graders go to the Children's Chapel in the Reception Hall
Children’s Church is a worship time for our younger children held during the sermon time of Sunday morning worship service. After attending the first part of the worship service with their parents, children are dismissed during the offertory to attend Children’s Church downstairs.
The purpose is to assist parents in teaching their children how to worship God Almighty. The goal is to help our children make the transition from being in the nursery to worshiping in the sanctuary. Here they become familiar with hymns, praise songs, creeds, scripture verses and prayers so that they can truly join in worship with the rest of the TOPC family in the sanctuary setting.
