Keith and Ruth Powlison began serving with MTW in Quito, Ecuador, in 1987 as part of a church-planting team. In 1991 they helped to oversee the dedication of the first presbytery in Quito. Following the establishment of the Quito Presbytery, the Powlisons expanded the work into the coastal city of Guayaquil. In 1994 they began the Hinterland (countries of Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru) branch of Mission to the World working primarily with the Quechua Indians.

Since the mid ‘90s the Powlisons have been working in the Peruvian city of Cusco establishing a Bible and Leadership Training Center and providing oversight of numerous church plants in that area. Keith currently serves as a MTW Regional Director, which requires him to be away from Cusco and the ministry there more than he would like. However, as the work continues to grow, Keith is also able to slowly hand over or delegate more and more of the ministry work to the nationals, which is his intentional plan.

The Powlisons have graciously hosted teams and ministry in Cusco from TOPC in the past.
