Susan Newkirk is a member of TOPC serving with Mission to the World in Cape Town, South Africa. In Cape Town she is serving as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Muizenberg Community Church. Her responsibilities include the establishment of a Sunday School program, choosing curricula, recruiting and training teachers and developing Vacation Bible School programs and kid clubs. She will also be involved with the evangelistic outreach of the church as well as ministering to refugee children from all over Africa and their parents.

Susan’s passion for missions began at age 11 when she accompanied her family to India to do mission work. Susan served a two-year term in Madrid, Spain, with Intervarsity Fellowship doing university student outreach and later served a two-year term with MTW teaching at a school for MTW missionary kids. After a two-week TOPC missions trip in 2003 to Cape Town, Susan strongly sensed the Lord’s leading for her to return to study at the Bible Institute (BI) of South Africa. While attending school she led Bible Studies and coordinated a children’s ministry with the Muizenberg Community Church.

Susan served for a number of years on the TOPC World Missions Committee up until her appointment by MTW for career service.
