Imbumi and Martha Makuku

Imbumi and Martha (Muthoni) Makuku minister in the Kibera slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Kibera is one of the largest slums in the world with over 1 million people living in a four- square-mile area. Imbumi is the pastor of the Kibera Reformed Presbyterian Church (KRPC). He mentors slum pastors under Daybreak Ministries and teaches and ministers to the urban poor. Imbumi’s duties include preaching, evangelism, discipleship, visitation, mentoring pastoral interns, teaching Bible students and hosting vision trips.

 

Martha works with the KRPC women, girls and denominational youth. Martha manages and directs the Shunem Shelter for abused girls as well as helping with outreach programs and the administration activities of the church.  

 

Other KRPC ministries include medical outreach, educating children, college and vocational training, youth outreach, AIDS home based care, Bible clubs and church school.

 

TOPC is planning to take a medical missions team here in July 2009.
