Nate and Charity Jones are serving in Jakarta, Indonesia, with SIL. Charity is a member of TOPC and is the daughter of Will and Prudence Barker. Nate grew up overseas in Indonesia and the Philippines.

The Indonesian government has asked SIL to be involved in setting up literacy initiatives for each of the minority language groups across western Indonesia. Nate is working to obtain grants from foreign governments and to network with local officials and community leaders to establish these programs. This work will help lay the groundwork for local churches who want to start translating the Scriptures into their own tongues.

Charity will be caring and counseling SIL members in Indonesia, another area of great need. She is finishing language school and will begin work in the summer.
