A children's church membership class preparing children and their families to take the Lord's Supper and participate in the life of the church.
A brief history of the Body Builders:
In 2003 my wife and I had the opportunity to assist in our first children’s membership class using Stephen Smallman’s Understanding the Faith. This publication worked very well with our 5th and 6th grade children but left the younger children in the class frustrated and overwhelmed. After seeing one too many tears from this younger group we sat down with pencil and paper in hand to write a curriculum that would fill the need that our church had to prepare our younger children for church membership that was written from a Reformed/Presbyterian perspective.
This curriculum is a work in progress. Each fall the curriculum is reworked with the hope that the material gets better and better. Two summers ago the Body builders curriculum went through a major overhaul with two very smart and people who cleaned up a lot of the grammar and formatting issues that have plagued this curriculum from the beginning. My hope with the materials in its 3rd edition is the best that it possibly can be at this present time but as the summer progresses I hope to update the materail.
My wife and I are always open to constructive and edifying suggestions that you may have to make these materials even better for the next edition next summer.
