Dwayne TerMaat started as Special Assistant To The Senior Pastor at TOPC in 2007. Previously he had a teaching career on the faculty of St. Louis Community College for 35 years. Dwayne has been a ruling elder for 30 plus years and has had a wide range of experience and roles during this time. He has had the blessing of sitting under reformed preaching and teaching virtually all of his life. God's grace is very real to him as he seeks to walk daily in humble obedience to the Lord.
In his role, Dwayne primarily functions to assist the Senior Pastor so as to lighten his work load. This involves a broad range of tasks. These include but are not limited to the following:
Special projects assigned by the Senior Pastor
Assist ministry leaders & help them work out any "challenges"
Handling concerns from people of the congregation
Point person for special church events
Some teaching
Support the staff
Lead staff meetings as needed
Visitation
Discipling/Mentoring
