Pastor Tom Jones' Biography

tomjones - CopyTom Jones has worked as a counselor at Twin Oaks since 1995, and since 2000 has served as Pastor of Counseling and Marriage Discipleship.

Tom has been a pastor since 1963;  while still a seminary student, he pastored a small Baptist church in Edwardsville, IL
for two years. Following his graduation from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Tom pastored churches in Lookout Mt., TN, Waterloo, IL, West Frankfort, IL, and Belleville, IL   Tom served as Presbytery Evangelist for the Illiana Presbytery from 1977 to 1980. He was also involved in the development of the Fresh Start Seminars, a national ministry to separated and divorced persons and their children. Tom served in the Fresh Start ministry from 1981 to 2006, personally speaking in over four hundred seminars in this country as well as Europe and Australia.  He also authored two books for the Fresh Start program, "Sex and Love When You're Single Again," and "The Single-Again Handbook."

Tom has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Covenant College and Covenant Seminary, teaching courses in Speech Communication and Homiletics. He has also served on General Assembly boards and committees, and for a number of years worked as a consultant for the former National Presbyterian Missions board in it's church planting ministry.

Tom and his wife, Reidun, are in a second marriage of twenty three years. Together, they have nine children and fourteen grandchildren (three great grand-children). They are happy, but very tired.
