Church Membership

1.  Adult Inquirer's Class - May 16-May 18, 2008
Offered three times per year, this weekend covers the essential history, theology and purpose of TOPC.  It is required for membership but open to anyone who is inquiring or who desires to simply find out more about the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) denomination and Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church.  The weekend begins with dinner on Friday at 6:30 p.m.  To register, call the church office at 636-861-1870.

2.  Shepherd / Mentor
You will have the privilege of interacting with a mentor who will help you grow in understanding membership and involve you in a FLOCKS  small group.

3.  Application
Fill out a membership application and a service opportunities form and return it to the church office.

4.  Interview with Elders
This will enable the elders to get to know you, hear your testimony, and answer any questions you may have.  The elders will then take your application to the session.

5.  Membership Vows*
All members must be in agreement with the vows of membership.  (The vows are listed below.)

6.  Reception by the Church
All members are received by the church during a Sunday morning worship service at which time your vows are taken and witnessed by the whole church.

*Membership Vows:

1.  Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?

2.  Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?

3.  Do you resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?

4.  Do you promise to support the church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?

5.  Do you submit yourself to the government and discipline of the church, and promise to study its purity and peace?  Hebrews 13:7, 17
