Twin Oaks has its own well-stocked library, located down the hall from the sanctuary narthex.  With over 11,000 titles, our library exists to help members and friends of the church grow in their Christian faith by providing materials for all ages that are appropriate and biblically based.  All members of Twin Oaks and regular attendees are invited to use the library by filling out a library card.  We are open during the following times:

Recent Acquisitions as of March 1, 20010

We have several new nonfiction books that might be of interest to people in the congregation.  The House that Cleans Itself, by Mindy Starns Clark, is a way to streamline house cleaning and home organization. (Perhaps someone could try this and get back to me!)  Coping with Chronic Illness by H. Norman Wright is written for those who suffer from conditions like diabetes, migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain—the list could go on and on.  The book gives encouragement and tips for managing the pain and dealing with the medical community and family and friends.  Handbook on Choosing Your Child’s Education is a guide to making a personalized plan for every age and stage of child.  The library has other books as well on choosing home/Christian/public education, but this book is more all-encompassing.  Two new books for women include Women, Get Answers about Your Money (answering questions about personal finance) and A Well-Tended Soul:  Staying Beautiful for the Rest of Your Life (a book for women who are getting older and a little anxious about the future!).

Housekeeping

Every once in a while we need to print a list of library materials that are missing, because people often request these items.  When materials are signed out improperly, they can’t be found when they are needed and that inconveniences everyone!  Here is a list of books and audiovisuals that the library would REALLY like to get back!  Please check your shelves at home!

  • God of Wonders (DVD)
  • Herman, Kathy.  The Real Enemy
  • Singer, Randy.  False Witness
  • Veith, Gene.  The Gift of Art.

Reminder:  please sign your name LEGIBLY on all checkout cards!
